Fab-YOU-lously Fragrant D.I.Y. Cupcake Bath Bombs

Bath BombsNot only are they adorable, these fun cupcake shaped bath bombs will turn your bath time into a luxurious, spa soak. Their bubbles will activate as soon as they hit the water, giving you a tingly feeling all over and then, as they dissolve, they will release skin-softening oils and a relaxing fragrance to give you the ultimate pampering experience.

To make these cupcake cuties, you’ll first need to gather a few supplies…

-One cup of baking soda

-One cup of citric acid powder (available here, or at your local health-food grocer)

-1/2 cup of cornstarch

-1/2 cup of fractionated coconut oil (available here) or other oil such as almond, canola or sunflower

-Favorite essential oil (I used the calming blend, Serenity from doTerra)

-Paper cupcake liners

-Two to three drops of food coloring

-Sprinkles

-Mixing bowl and spoon

Once you’ve gathered your materials, making these bath bombs couldn’t be easier. Just follow these simple instructions…

essential oil1.) In a bowl, combine baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, a few drops of essential oil and the fractionated coconut oil until it forms a crumbly “dough

2.) Pack approximately half of the mixture into the cupcake liners (the rest of the mixture will be used as “frosting” for the cupcakes)

3.) Add a few drops of food coloring to the remaining mixture and mix

4.) Pat equal amounts of the colored “frosting” onto each cupcake

5.) Decorate cupcakes with the sprinkles (don’t worry, they’ll dissolve in the bath water)

6.) Let the cupcakes set overnight. In the morning, remove the cupcakes from the cupcake liners

7.) Allow cupcakes to continue air drying

8.) Use anytime by plopping one cupcake into a warm bath

9.) Relax and enjoy your pampering soak.

These cupcake bath bombs will last indefinitely if stored in a resealable plastic bag and make excellent Mother’s Day or birthday gifts. Simply arrange them in a bakery box, nestled in colored tissue paper.
