Eight Fab-YOU-lously Simple Ways to Reduce Your Carbon Footprint on Earth Day and EVERY Day

Copy of Earth Day (1)If you think that conservation is just for tree-hugging hippie types, YOU NEED TO OPEN YOUR EYES AND GET A CLUE. Our earth is in serious trouble and we can no longer afford to ignore, politicize or deny the issue. Things need to change and they need to change now. Unfortunately, change is hard and therefore many of us give up before we even start because we don’t know what to do and we figure that we can’t really make a difference anyhow.

THAT ASSUMPTION IS WRONG.

Fab Factor #10: Humor

Fab Factor #10- Humor (2)Every month for the last several months, we have focused upon one of the top twelve contributing factors to a FabYOUlous Life as determined by Dan Baker, Ph.D and co-author of the book, What Happy People Know.

This month’s Fab Factor is HUMOR and that seems appropriate since we started the month off with April Fool’s Day and today (here in Colorado where I live) we are dealing with Mother Nature’s sense of humor as we dig out from a spring snowstorm (after it was in the high 70’s last week!)

Walk Your Way to Fab-YOU-lous Health

Benefits of walking (1)Spring is (finally) in the air so now is the time to add a little spring to your step as well and add walking to your fitness routine.

As a runner, I personally have overlooked the benefits of walking because I figured that surely running had to be better for me (how did I become such a running snob???) I am now however, starting to learn that that is not necessarily the case. Sure–running has some added cardio benefits and might help you reach your fitness goals a bit more quickly; however, running can also be extremely hard on the body and lead to joint problems and other injuries. This information about the benefits of walking appeals to me because though I don’t intend to give up on running (participating in a half marathon is still on my bucket list), I am excited to hear that walking is a viable option for me on those days when my body just isn’t up for a run.

Use Your Chakras to Energize Your Life

Chakra Energy (1)Last month, I wrote a post that was a very basic introduction to the seven chakras (energy centers) that we all have operating within us. If you missed that post, you can click here to read it.

Now, I’d like to move beyond the basic introductions and take you a little deeper into the impact that your chakras can have upon your energy levels and how you can learn to boost your chakral energy which will manifest itself into more physical energy.

12 Ways to Boost Your Motivation

When You'd Rather Just Stay in Bed

15 Ways to Boost Your Motivation (4)Motivation is the all-important special sauce that is required to reach any worthwhile goal. Unfortunately, motivation isn’t a constant–it ebbs and flows just like the tide. We’ve all experienced periods of high energy and productivity. These times are exciting and we feel unstoppable. Unfortunately, these times of high energy and high productivity don’t always last.  No matter how much we desire to reach a goal, we will all experience occasional times when we hit a wall and our energy plummets. These periods of lethargy and boredom are dangerous because it is during these low-energy periods that the temptation to quit can be overwhelming and for many, it is during these difficult, low-energy times that FabYOUlous dreams wither and die.
